Xiamen Airlines
When travelling around China I usually fly on China Southern or China Air. They all are cheap alternatives to the expensive Dragonair or Cathay Pacific, but they aren’t the most comfortable and the food usually consists of a cake and a bottle of water.
Recently, I tried Xiamen Airlines (pronounced Sherman) and was pleasantly surprised! The seats were comfortable and the service was great. This was the first time I’ve actually asked for second-helpings of airline food, it was that good!
When flying you might find these tips useful:
- Order vegetarian food. Usually the quality is much better anyway and you get served first!
- Sit at the back of the plane. Why? Because mostly the kids are situated at the front. Usually most people prefer the front, so they can get on and get off quicker. However, there’s no point as you have to wait for luggage anyway.
- Carry some tissues. Not for you, but for the sniffing guy sat next to you. You don’t want him to bug you throughout the flight.
Can anyone think of anymore?

Said this at 5:42pm:Vegetarian food also depends on which airline provided, once I tried with Eva Air. Their vegetarian food is horrible. There are always toliet queue at the back…don’t you think a bit annoying? heheh just my opinion

Said this at 5:48pm:Yeah I think Eva Air sucks also! I haven’t any advice on the toilet situation - perhaps if you order vegetarian you can finish your food before the others have even started so you should be able to go to the loo first?
