Shanghai Surprise

I’m currently in Shanghai and today got a good telling off about my poor Chinese from a guy who learnt Chinese in a few years. I can understand why
- I’ve been to China about 15 times in the last years and have a Chinese Girlfriend but still only know “thank you”, “hello” and a few other useless words like “fompee” (break wind). My excuse is that living in Hong Kong and speaking Cantonese confuses me which ultimately means I slip into speaking Putongwa which combined with my Bristolian (farmer) accent = disaster. Of course the real answer is laziness but I’ll be sure to get back to the books when free.

At the local supermarket I noticed something on the Cocopops Cereal that on the cover they are showing the trademark monkey fighting a giant rat with a sword. Haven’t spotted this on Cereal in HK, but should a picture of a rat really be displayed on boxes of cereal especially Cocopops since the chocolate grains could be mistaken for Rat’s poo?
