MTR Breaks my Balls and Hospital

I’ve raved on about how the MTR over here is the best I’ve experienced, but my only slight annoyance is with the turnstiles. There’s a system over here where if you don’t have enough credit on your plastic MTR card, you can still travel and pay back the amount at a later date. There’s a series of beeps that the MTR turnstile emits that tells you that you’ve got credit to pass, no credit but can pass or no credit and won’t let you pass.

Maybe it’s just me, but I haven’t worked out what the different pitches of beep means yet and the height of the turnstile is the exact height of my crotch area, so when it locks up - I frequently end up in pain! Man that stings.

On a recent visit to hospital (not connected to the above!), I was glad to see that anti-SARS procedures are still being carried out. All visitors to the hospital have their temperature checked, asked to wash their hands and to wear a mask.

Another item that visitors have to wear is a small coloured sticker. My sticker was green, which guessed it meant that I was ok (in the sense of not having SARS). I notice the fear in peoples eyes behind their masks as everyone was looking out for the red sticker wearers!
