An article from Yahoo explains Hong Kong pollution is worsening, adding to health problems and effecting tourism.
I feel the pollution is getting worse and whilst it seems appropriate to blame it on the mainland, Hong Kong needs to take responsibility also. The cheap taxi’s and other forms of transport are to blame in a conjected [...]

Hong Kong Stinks
CNY and Mad Rush
Chinese New Year is approaching and everyone is making a mad dash for sweets, red pants and big tubs of cooking oil?! Anyway back to the subject of Chinese sweets and I’m sad to say whilst Chinese food is some of the best I’ve ever tasted….Chinese really suck at making sweets! They are usually bland [...]
Asian Condoms
Came across a HK based site that sells condoms online. Good idea, although I’m not so sure about some of the product range’s or descriptions.
Musical Condoms (?)
To quote from the page:
Warning:
- This is an audio product, not for contraception.
- Not for a person under 18.
- Some part of the music is very exciting, stop playing [...]
Waste of money to No Money
I noticed that The Peak Cafe an automatic air conditioner that blasts cool air outside to customers walking.
My first thought was what a waste of money and what benefit would it have, would a potential customer walking by think “Which restaurant shall I go to, ah I see Peak Cafe has an outside air [...]

Indians
Now this entry isn’t to bash Indians, just really an observation. In my time in HK I’ve heard many Indian’s speak Cantonese fluently and have total respect for these guys. Now I notice that Gweilo’s (are Indian’s considered to be Gweilo’s?) are less involved in speaking the language – preferring their native language. Now why [...]

What the hell is this food?
I’ve been in HK for over a year and my Chinese language hasn’t really improved. I get confused with Putogwa and the different Cantonese variations around China when I travel, so I’ve pretty much learnt all I can.
Also it’s a fact that Chinese don’t expect you to speak Chinese – so it knocks you [...]

Randy Gweilo’s
Perhaps the title is too harsh. I can understand because there is a working culture here, many people do not have the time to find a partner.
The thing is, where would you meet your perfect sole mate? At work, on the MTR or even in LKF? Nope. I’ve got a lot of single friends here [...]

HK Old Foggies
Remember when BWG was bold? Or when Gweilo Diaries was funny (no I don’t remember that either…)
Well I came across the Waybackmachine which has been archiving sites over the years. So with some interesting topics and colour schemes, let’s read what HK Bloggers were talking about all those years ago:
Eshin Direct in 2003 – Complaining [...]
Take a Leaflet, Please!
Whilst walking around the streets of HK, you’d be hard pushed not to come across people distributing leaflets. Most people here don’t accept the hand outs, instead dodging being touched a la Keanu Reeves style when he was ducking bullets in the Matrix. The leaflet guys are pretty pushy, having witnessed on more than one [...]
