Bit of HK Blog Promoting
I agree with Fumier and his Day Tripper Article about Hong Kongers and Umbrealla’s.
Back home my little trick to the “human bumper car” was to either walk in a straight line and blank look any people in my way or just to look away at the last second before a potential collision so the other people would quickly move.
Alas in HK, people are so preoccupied that these little tips won’t really work - you’re going to get hurt if you don’t pay attention over here! With the Umbrella problem, I usually walk with one hand near my eye since most umbrella’s when raised are about my head height. With walking into people, I usually end up walking on the road and weaving in and out of grannies and granddad’s.
It’s a point to note that people here walk in “super speed”, don’t really notice it until I go back to England. However fast I think I’m walking, I always end up being overtaken usually by someone 20 years older than me! Sometimes it makes me wonder - what’s the rush!?
Well it’s a sad time but we say farewell to a few HK Bloggers who are now leaving us for pastures new - UKJoe, Ora and Eyal. Take it easy guys! In the mean time I’ve been bugged by my Girlfriend to promote her new HK Blog type site Li Liwei which I’m told will start to contain all my secrets - cheers!
